So I decided to try this out again...

So after a 3 year blogging break, mainly just because life ran away from me and I kept putting it off I think it might be fun to do it again. Well a lot has happened these past 3 years.

So here's the update:

We moved to Salt Lake City, so Scott's commute is only 15 and my commute is 10...honestly that was the only deciding factor on where we moved. We've been here for a year and half and love being 5 minutes away from everywhere other than work.

Well, I decided that going back to school would fun, so I did it. I went back to school to be a surgical technologist and I am so happy that I did. Before I even graduated I had a job which made life pretty easy, no job hunting for me. I love my job. I work in labor and delivery and get to be a part of special moments every time I work, it's pretty fun.

Here's me on graduation night and yes those
would be honor cords...I worked my butt off and got
an 3.96...

With my return to work after 4 years, brought with it the need to for Rachel to go to daycare/preschool or playschool (thanks Caillou) . Best decision ever! She really taken to it well. She loves it there. She is learning so much and being with her friends there is great for her.

Holy cow this girl is growing up!

Scott has been busy as well, he's a supervisor at SkyWest and in October decided that he himself would try his hand at going back to school. He's doing great at it too and working so hard at it! He is studying to be an aircraft mechanic. He is working full time and going to school full time, so at times life is pretty crazy.

Scott's working hard ;)
Seriously that's the SLC airport in the background.

Life has been pretty busy, but we are trying to make every minute count. Things some days, I'm not going to lie get a little overwhelming. But I am so thankful that we a great support system to make life work some days! Thanks for letting us lean on you ;)

Well as crazy as our life seems to us, it kinda sounds a little boring. Well as the weeks go by we have a few fun events planned, so I will try and keep you all posted...

Disneyland

So, it had been forever since we went to see the big mouse in California. We pretty much needed to wait till Rachel was old enough. So we decided that she would finally enjoy and get something out of it. We also took our niece Megan, it was her first time on a plane too so that was pretty fun. She had no idea till I was printing boarding passes at the airport that we were going to Disneyland. I had told her that we were going to St.George for a few days so she needed to pack cooler clothes and since Scott works for Skywest that we were just going to fly down cause it was going to be easier than driving. We had a wonderful time we were all in need of a vacation. Rachel had fun seeing all the characters and listening to the music that they play around the parks. Her favorite ride was the astro orbiter at the entrance of tomorrowland, she probably rode that thing 4 or 5 times. Every time we passed it, she would point at it wanting to go on it. We even got Megan to go on california screaming, the big coaster in Califonia adventure, it made her feel pretty gross though. We were there for 5 days, that is probably the longest that we have ever gone there, which was good cause we really got to pace ourselves and have a great time. We got annual passes so we'll be back.

The Past Two Months

Well after being displaced for just a little over 2 months, I finally have my computer set back up and time to update our blog. The basement is finally finished. Rachel has her own room and we are all trying to get back into a somewhat normal routine again. We had a great Christmas and had a wonderful time with family and friends over the holidays. The last few months have been crazy with construction and trying to get everything accomplished. But we are so grateful to be back home. After a three day battle with Rachel not sleeping in her own room on her crib mattress(I didn't want to set her crib back and was wondering about a toddler bed) we got out the queen bed and she started started sleeping in her own room finally. We are still trying to pull it all together and figure out where we stashed everything for the last few, so we can all get back to normal...or atleast our version of it anyway. So here are a few pictures from Christmas time and the finished basement.

I'd thought we'd give this a try.

Well since I live thousands of miles away from my family and Scott's family is all over the West and we have friends everywhere in several countries. I thought that people could keep up with all of us better if I made a blog and I have some time on my hands while the other kids are at school....so here we are

Well for starters Rachel's getting so big. She is almost 16 Months and making all of us crazy. She is into anything and everything. She is walking..well more like running everywhere these days and generally in the opposite of where you want her to go. And keeping up with her Hispanic heritage she likes to eat spicy food, without even blinking an eye.

As for Scott and I. Well we are still here with Scott's brother and his family. To help out with Jon and the kids while my sister-in-law goes to school full time. With Jon things are measured by the day and there are good days and bad days, it basically varies. So while the 5 kids are at school and Jon is having a good day, I have a bit of time. That's all I really do, taking care of a house with 10 people living in it.

Scott is busy working several days a week at SkyWest, the commute is a bit longer. But he loves his job. So I guess it's OK.

Overall things are good, we are just busy a lot it seems. We have some fun things planned for the next little bit, trips to see family and a visit to the mouse in California in December. Well we'll keep in touch.
